Three for Week 14
Well after what only can be described as a March more akin to normal as regards rainfall, April has returned to more settled weather like we experienced over the winter months. The only real exception to this was Monday the 3rd when we had a good flood with the river rising to 80, but it has been relatively settled since.
Last week saw the return of some of our long standing syndicate members and they managed to land a few fish also. First off the mark was Tim McCormack, a guest of Athene Keatinge. Tim landed a nice fish of 7lbs9ozs in the Meadow Pool on the 6th on a Cascade. This was followed up that afternoon by Margaret Downes who landed a nice fish of 8lbs in the Rock Pool on a Collie Dog.
Since then our water has dropped off significantly and the river is now at 15, which makes fishing difficult despite having some excellent anglers this week. Hopefully we will see some change in weather patterns in the next few days, to bring water levels up again. Temperatures have also dropped off this week compared to last week. So we live in hope that the Easter Bunny will bring some water and another batch of fish!! D.McEvoy
