Well according to the meteorologists it’s officially Summertime, although more often than not, here on the West Coast of Ireland it doesn’t feel quite like Summer. Firstly I must apologise for not updating you all since the Cuckoo […]
Waterfall Cottage is a unique property at the heart of the spectacular Delphi Valley. Situated along the Wild Atlantic Way and surrounded by one of Ireland’s largest Special Areas of Conservation. The house overlooks a pristine river in a stunning wilderness setting.
As part of the Delphi Estate in Connemara, this large cottage is a reconstruction and extension of two 19th century cottages, merged into one home of great character, with no other buildings in sight. Clad in local stone (quarried from just 200 yards away), roofed with traditional Blue Bangor slates and yet fully insulated to modern standards, Waterfall Cottage has all the charm of a period property with all the benefits of modern construction.
Close to excellent salmon and sea trout fishing at Delphi Lodge and surrounded by popular hillwalking trails, Waterfall Cottage is just 20 miles from the pretty Georgian town of Westport with its championship golf course and many amenities.
The nearest village, Leenane in Connemara, is 8 miles to the southeast and the small town of Louisburgh is 11 miles to the north.
All the Delphi Holiday Cottages are located in this valley of staggering beauty. The local wildlife, featuring otters, badgers, pine martens, peregrine falcons and a myriad of wild flowers, is exceptional.
